Once again Dr Anneke Lamont will be spreading her musical magic in bringing together soloist of international acclaim to perform for the benefit of both Hospice Plett and Knysna Sedgefield Hospice.
Dr Lamont was the Director of Music at Oakhill School in Knysna from 2015 –2018. She is currently Head of Piano at the Odeion School of Music centered at the University of the Free State.
She is recognised as a top performing pianist and is a sought after chamber musician. She initiated the Voices for Hospice concerts in 2017 with Richard Cock and colleagues as well as local musicians and choirs in Knysna and Plett. The concerts were greatly appreciated and raised awareness of the work of the Hospices in our community.
Ulrike and Bruno Baldzuhn most generously hosted an an “Open Day” at their delightful Hum Bee Flora Garden in February in order to raise funds to pay for the musicians’ travel expenses.
The 80 minute Programme chosen by Anneke will include songs from ” My Fair Lady” and music by Debussy, Delibes, Faure, Gershwin, Mozart, Puccini, Saint-Saens and other composers.
A cash bar will be available before the concert and during the 20 minute interval.
The PlettAid Foundation/Hospice Plett and Knysna Sedgefield Hospice would like to acknowledge their extreme gratitude to Dr Anneke Lamont for her vision in organising these wonderful concerts and gathering together fellow musicians to perform for our communities and for giving up their precious time to travel to the Garden Route amidst demanding personal schedules. The previous concert
“Voices for Hospice” production was superlative and we look forward with great anticipation to these next concerts; one to be held in Knysna on Friday the 15th November followed by the Plett Concert at the White House on Saturday the 16th November.
